Bring on Brunch
Brunch. Just the word excites me and probably does the same for you, right? Brunch, when mentioned doesn’t mean cold cereal for breakfast and a ham sandwich for lunch. Brunch is so much more including: the food selection, location of where the meal will be, the drink that will accompany the selection of foods, the time to have this entire meal ready by, and then who will be lucky enough to share this meal.
According to a recent study by Statistic Brain Research Institute, 93% of the people asked believe in the importance of breakfast, however only 40% eat breakfast daily.
Therefore, sit back, scroll through my recommendations of items, and imagine one or more of these items on your table the next time you want to elevate your breakfast to the status of Brunch. All of the following recipes are from fellow members of SITS.
No Brunch is complete without a special drink: Pink Grapefruit Slushy from Southern Krazed.
Eggs might be the next item you think of with breakfast/Brunch and this is healthy and easy: Avocado Egg Wrap from Momless Mom.
Biscuits are fine with butter and jelly, but better with: Sausage Gravy from Fabulous Farm Girl.
Its nice when there are leftovers from a special recipe followed. Make this bread for Brunch, and then have leftovers for breakfast during the next week: Apple Bread from Heaven is Smiling Above.
Chocolate fix is what some crave and this recipe has you covered: Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffins from Meatloaf and Melodrama.
Remember this is Brunch, so lunch is invited to the table with breakfast and this sandwich is a wonderful addition: Simple Chicken Salad Sandwich from Inkhappi.
Seems like a salad should be included to balance all the above; this is what I found: Smoked Caesar Salad with Chicken from The Silly Girl’s Life.
Don’t know if there is room for sweets on the table, so I would suggest this recipe as a favor to your guests or a hostess gift if attending a Brunch: Oatmeal Raisin Coconut Cookies from Our Family World.
Now that you have some ideas, go work on a date for your Brunch and invite some friends/neighbors over to share in all the deliciousness you will be making/baking.
